Bike Jam cycling festival to celebrate start of Tour of Britain

A festival of cycling will take place at Tower Gardens, Tower Hill on 7 September to coincide with London hosting the opening stage of The Tour of Britain.

Bike Jam will be open from 10.30 until 3.30pm. It will feature BMX bike stunts, Jazz bands, dance troops and other family orientated activity. Giant screens at Bike Jam will show all the action from the Grand Depart of the Tour of Britain.

The new 8.5km Tour of Britain London circuit starts and finishes on Victoria Embankment. Riders will race along the banks of the Thames past Big Ben and The Tower of London.

Riders will complete ten laps of the circuit to decide who will wear the Yellow Jersey for the next stage. A Transport for London big screen will also show the action at the bottom of Horse Guards Parade by Victoria Embankment.

The Tour of Britain is the UK's biggest cycle race. The race is made up of 16 teams with six riders in each team. It will finish in Liverpool on 15 September.
