Coca-Cola considers 2012 legacy with event at East End university

Queen Mary, University of London

Queen Mary, University of London - the closest academic venue to the 2012 Olympic site, staged its first Olympic-inspired event last month when it hosted Coca-Cola.

The event, organised by agency Altyerre, was designed to immerse 120 Coca-Cola executives in the local area, and to provide understanding on the history of London's East End in order to form insight into a 2012 legacy. Coca-Cola is assisting Tower Hamlets Council in the development of a visitor strategy for the area for 2012 and beyond and is the Olympics longest running sponsor.

Following the event, Queen Mary, University of London's spokesman Simon Barlow said: "We've seen a dramatic spike of interest in the college from organisations looking to get close to the Olympic site. It's an exciting time for the East End as a whole and a great setting for people wanting to become involved in the vibrancy and history of the area."

Queen Mary, University of London, is an eco-friendly college offering versatility, history, location and value for money. The venue offers a range of venues to suit all hospitality needs, catering for groups of 20 to 800 people.
