The Natural History Museum will open its £78 million Darwin Centre to the public on 15 September and begin staging corporate events from 1 October.
The venue will host up to 150 guests for sit-down dinners or 350 for standing receptions.
Visitors to the long-anticipated addition to the Natural History Museum will be able to experience a journey deep into the 65-metre-long, eight-storey-high cocoon at the venue's heart.
Here, guests will discover some of the 20 million plants and insects protected by this enormous cocoon – from huge tarantulas to gigantic poisonous plants. For the first time visitors will also be able to see museum scientists at work.
The Centre's events space will provide guests with access to the venue's landscaped gardens and can be combined with the Natural History Museum's array of exhibition spaces and galleries.
