EIBTM proves resounding success for Visit London and partners

Visit London and its stand partners expect to receive record enquiries following a successful EIBTM exhibition.

According to Visit London's Sales Manager Europe, Barbara Jamison, the exhibition stand at the Barcelona show received record visitor figures.

She said: "EIBTM is a key industry event for Visit London and it has proved year on year to be a key driver for events in the UK capital. Our target for the show was to beat last year's figures. Following a very busy few days of appointments and stand activity, we expect to at least double that amount in confirmed business this year."

EIBTM took place from 2-4 December. The Visit London's stand featured more than 20 partners, ranging from large conference centres and hotels to Royal palaces and destination management companies. Some of the partners, such as Novotel London West, used EIBTM as a platform to announce their refurbishment plans, first revealed on the Visit London Event Organisers' website.

Philip Hyland, Sales Manager for the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square said of the show: "Both the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square and Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott Hotel had an extremely successful time at EIBTM. The two hotels are already witnessing positive evidence of interest direct from the show, thus confirming the importance of exhibiting at EIBTM. The traffic brought to us via the Visit London stand was hugely prominent and I would suggest one of the busiest at the show itself."

On 3 December, Visit London hosted a networking evening at Mondo restaurant in Barcelona's harbour area. Catalan musicians and dancers were followed by a "dance-off" involving buyers. The winner of the competition was given a weekend for two at Brocket Hall, where they will enjoy a five-star venue with a range of quintessentially-English activities such as golf, croquet and afternoon tea.
