International Rheumatism Congress to come to London

The European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) has chosen to hold its annual congress in London during 2011.

The congress will be held at ExCeL London from 25-28 May. It will bring around 12,000 delegates from across Europe to the capital.

The Docklands venue worked with the British Society for Rheumatology, the EULAR steering committee, conference organiser MCI and Visit London to secure the four-day event.

Vanessa Cotton, Managing Director Conferences and Events at ExCeL London said: “We competed against other European destinations so the team have worked hard to ensure ExCeL London is seen as the ideal location. We are the capital’s only venue to offer such scale and flexibility and we will ensure that EULAR fully realise their event success in London.”

EULAR will have full exclusivity of ExCeL London during the congress. European delegates will be able to reach the venue by flying into London City Airport, located only minutes away.

EULAR President Ferdinand C.Breedveld said: “We have chosen this venue in honour of the importance of rheumatology in the UK and in recognition of its great achievements for people suffering from arthritis and musculoskeletal diseases in the world of Europe. We are really pleased to be hosted in 2011 by the great city of London.”
