Major hotel groups sign up to London Accommodation Charter
Major hotel groups have teamed up with Visit London to simplify the process of sourcing bedstock in the capital for events that require 1,000 beds or more.
A city-wide Accommodation Supplier Charter has been drawn up following ongoing discussions with all the major hotel groups.
Hilton, Guoman, Accor, Millennium Hotels and Resorts, Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Travel Lodge, Marriott, Premier Inn and Radisson Edwardian Hotels have all agreed in principal to provide a central point of contact within each group for large-scale event bookings and to supply advanced rates at the time of enquiry.
This will help event planners with the accommodation proposal for any major bid.
The Charter aims to install a united front and a one-stop-shop for accommodation buyers and to create standard terms of doing business with hotels in order to attract a greater number of events to the capital.
The Accommodation Charter is expected to go live by January 2009. Visit London is continuing its talks with all the hotel groups ranging from five-star luxury to budget accommodation in the capital.
