Visit London scooped four accolades at the prestigious Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA) this month.
The capital's business tourism unit came away with one Silver MIMA and three Bronze trophies.
The London for associations guide won the Silver for Best Brochure in the Destinations section. Bronze MIMAs were awarded for the Event Planner's Guide 2009 as Best Brochure in the Venues section, the 'Unlock your Potential' insert in the Best Direct Marketing Campaign category, and the Launch of the 2012 UK Event Industry Fair Pricing and Practice Charter in the Best Public Relations Campaign category.
Severine Ougier, Visit London Business Marketing Manager said: "We're delighted to have won so many awards this year. This is testimony of the collaborative effort of our sales and marketing teams, designers and publishers, to understand our target audience further and respond to their needs better. In these tough competitive times it was important London stayed front of mind as a meeting and events destination. Our strategic and creative approach has been recognised by the industry and our enquiry figures are looking great. We couldn't be more pleased."
More than 250 guests attended the awards ceremony at the Park Plaza Riverbank on 16 October. An online auction carried out on Meetpie.com raised more than £23,000 for industry charity Meetings Industry Meeting Needs and a raffle on the evening increased the figure to over £25,000.
Since the award-winning launch of the 2012 UK Event Industry Fair Pricing and Practice Charter, almost 300 supplier companies have signed up to ensure that events and hospitality surrounding the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games are priced fairly and a success for everyone involved.
