The Natural History Museum showcased its events capabilities to more than 500 guests at its Wild about Events party.
The party, held on 24 November demonstrated the venue's speedy transformation from museum to event venue. It also provided guests with an opportunity to privately view the two new exhibitions – The Wildlife Photographer of the Year and Darwin.
Zoë Watts, Head of Events and Catering at the Natural History Museum commented: "The party was a great success and an opportunity for us to illustrate why we are one of the world's iconic event spaces. We have had an incredible response from the guests who attended and have already received a number of booking enquiries for 2009".
On the night, guests were welcomed with a light display courtesy of Event Concept before being led through to the Central Hall. The hall was transformed into a relaxed scene with white leather sofas and coffee tables provided by Great Hire and a circular bar in the shadow of the Diplodocus centrepiece.
Two further areas were converted into walkways showcasing ice sculptures from All About Ice and a tropical landscape complete with palm trees from Palmbrokers.
Themed refreshments were served throughout the night by Create Food, one of the UK's leading special event caterers. An array of Dim Sum and Oriental desserts were also provided. Food stations included Prosciutto ham, tapas, Vietnamese and a salmon ice bar.
The event was also supported with entertainment from Sternberg Clark, floral design by Veevers Carter, lighting balloons from Air Star, a star-lit curtain by Acre Jean with additional voile draping from Creative Draping. Perton Signs provided signage and Coffee Motion provided guests with a freshly-made espresso as they left.
