Gordon Ramsay's début airport restaurant opened at London Heathrow airport's Terminal 5 building on 27 March.

The celebrity chef's Plane Food is a 180-cover fine dining restaurant housed in the Richard Rogers designed new home of British Airways.

Offering panoramic views of the UK capital’s skyline and across the runway, the restaurant is divided into six areas segregated by a burnt orange and bright red colour scheme. It was designed by architect Bentel & Bentel to emphasise the idea of movement from one destination to another. Each table is individually lit to provide points of focus within the room.

Boxwood Café's Stuart Gillies overseas the menu together with Nathan Johnson.

Michelin-starred chef Ramsay said : "I wanted to create a menu and dining experience that matches the excitement and anticipation of air travel in what is one of the most stunning venues for a restaurant anywhere in the world."
