Sofitel London Heathrow Hotel to open at T5
A £180m Sofitel hotel will accommodate conferencing for up to 1,700 delegates when it opens its doors at London Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5 in June.
The 605-bedroom Sofitel London Heathrow will connect directly to the airport via a link bridge into one of the luxury hotel's five steel and glass atriums. There will be 41 meeting rooms supported by a catering service that will allow delegates to choose from 15 different styles of cuisine.
Also on offer will be a fine dining restaurant with a chef's table, brasserie with live cooking, themed lobby bar, tea salon and library cocktail bar.
Sofitel London Heathrow Director of Sales and Marketing Raj Shah said: "This hotel is creating a real stir in the market place. With unparalleled accessibility to road, underground, rail and bus networks, the Sofitel London Heathrow is destined to become a highly popular choice with meetings and event planners, and attendees alike."
KCA International Designers designed the hotel around the concept of 'the gateway to the world'. Themes of continent and country can be seen throughout the property. Antarctica takes the central focus in the hotel’s reception area with a water fountain centrepiece, which cascades out from a mirrored ceiling onto floodlit ice blocks.
The adjoining public areas encompass themes of Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. The hotel’s four-room categories comprise superior, deluxe, executive and suites.
