Vinopolis is offering event planners the chance to offset their event carbon emissions.
The eight-roomed venue has introduced a carbon calculator, created by Carbon Footprint, to allow organisers to work out the carbon output of their events. Planners can then choose from a range of offset projects such as clean energy programme.
"This is something that event organisers are now asking for and we are the first venue to offer this service," said Vinopolis Managing Director Rupert Ellwood. "Whilst we recognise that as a result of organising an event with us there will be carbon consumption, we want our clients to be fully informed and to know what the options are for reducing the impact."
The Vinopolis Carbon Calculator went live on 18 November. Each organiser will be given a unique password so they can input attendees' travel details and the number of hours rooms are used for. The calculator will then work out the emissions created for the client to then choose their method of offsetting.
