The BT Visit London Awards 2009 are open for entries

There are fourteen categories plus three People’s Choice Awards. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 05 August and entries can be made via visitlondon.com/awards 

Three new categories for this year include Corporate Event of the Year, Consumer Event of the Year and Best Gastronomic Experience. Winners in eight categories including Business Venue of the Year will also be automatically entered into national Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2010, run by VisitBritain. 

Sally Chatterjee, Visit London Interim CEO said: "I am delighted to announce the BT Visit London awards 2009. The event gains greater recognition every year and we expect this year to attract even more submissions from across the industry. Tourism is worth approximately £15bn to the economy in London and we believe that every aspect of the tourism in the capital from accommodation and attractions to business and events should be recognised and celebrated." 

The BT Visit London Awards 2009 will take place on Thursday 05 November at Westfield London, in the west of the capital. The full list of categories are:

10. Outstanding Customer Service
11. Sports Tourism Award
12. Visitor Attraction of the Year
13. Best Tourism Experience
14. Best Gastronomic Experience

The categories for the People’s Choice Awards will be revealed at a later date.
