London Areas
London is roughly bounded by the M25 motorway and split east to west by the river Thames. The city can be broadly divided into five areas: North, South, East, West and Central. Each area offers a wealth of event venues and all are well served by public transport.
Central London
Central London is the historic heart of the city and boasts a rich variety of venues and attractions. By far the highest concentration London's convention hotels are situated in the Mayfair area, near to London's shopping and theatre districts. "The City" refers to London's historic centre of business and is home to many blue chip companies and international institutions.
East London
East London has attracted a huge amount of investment and regeneration in recent years, culminating in the development of London's 2012 Olympic Park. Docklands, centred around Canary Wharf, has become London's new financial centre with its modern office blocks, luxury hotels and purpose built event spaces like ExCeL and The O2. London City airport is minutes from Canary Wharf.
West London
Leafy West London is home to the Earls Court and Olympia exhibition centres and the palaces and gardens of Kensington, Richmond and Kew. At the edge of the city, Heathrow Airport boasts a campus of large event hotels and is linked to the city by rapid transport links.
North London
Home to historic venues like Alexandra Palace and Wembley Stadium, North London is well served by Underground trains and buses. Nearby Stansted and Luton airports are London's low cost transport hubs.
South London
The jewel in South London's crown is the World Heritage Site of Greenwich with its famed Observatory and the magnificent Old Royal Naval College. The area south of the Thames may be less well known, but it's full of surprises and offers cool and quirky venues that can make an event truly unique.
